Is your kitchen stuck in a time warp but finances won’t allow a big remodel? Maybe you have just moved into a new home and its just not on the plan yet, but you still want your kitchen to look modern and classy. Here are five ways to improve your kitchen on a budget.
1. Allocate your kitchen budget
Before you start investing your money, you should make a list of what you want to change and how much it will cost. This way, you can see if allocating more for something like a new fridge is worth the investment or if there are other ways to save money. Are you appliances still good? In which case, keep them until you really need to replace them.
2. Change cabinet doors. If the cupboards are still solid, then you can save a lot of money by just replacing the doors. You can even paint them, which is even cheaper – if you decide to do this, buy new handles too; it will change the whole appearance of the room.
3. Get better flooring. If you have dirty, old looking flooring in your kitchen, it really drags down the whole room. A kitchen is a high traffic area so get some good quality lvt flooring. You can choose a colour to match your kitchen, and the practical and easy to fit flooring will really lift your new kitchen.
4. Paint the tiles – tiling is complicated and long winded. However, if you have dated tiles, you do want to drag them into the 21st century. Get specialised tile paint and match it to your newly painted cupboards.
5 Use accessories to modernise the room. Get beautiful bowls or glass jars that you can store food in on the worktop, utilising space in the most practical way.
